This months feature Adult Toy Review interview is with Suki, creator of OhMiBod vibrators -- the most "revolutionary", innovative, and best-selling new vibrators on the market today.
Missy: Hi Suki, welcome. Let me first start off by saying that I'm really excited to be interviewing you today about your vibrators, which are in my opinion, not only innovative but truly revolutionary. I can honestly say I was thrilled to hear of your new products for many reasons, but for any of our readers that have not heard of OhMiBod vibrators, would you tell us briefly about them and what they do that other vibrators don't?
Suki's Answer: OhMiBod, as a company, is a pioneer in the design and manufacture of technology enabled pleasure products and acsexsories. Our flagship product, OhMiBod, is a hip, elegantly designed music driven vibrator that connects to your iPod®, iPhone™ or any other music player. Our music driven vibrators vibrate to the beat and rhythm of the music on your music player "enhancing your listening pleasure". The latest release in our line of music driven vibrators is Naughtibod. Naughtibod is smaller in stature then its bigger sibling OhMiBod which is perfect size to take with you in your purse or while traveling. It has a velvet finish and a curvy silhouette making it as enticing to the eye as the touch. Our product offering also includes a line of cell phone activated vibes called Boditalk and other fun acesexsories. I should also mention that all OhMiBod products work with their technology partners or alone. What I mean by this is that if your iPod is out of juice or you don't have your cell phone handy, you can just use our OhMiBod vibes on their own. As an example, all of our music vibes come with an additional "manual mode" endcap and when the customer exchanges the "music mode" cap for the "manual mode" cap, they can then choose from 7 stimulating vibration patterns. When you own an OhMiBod, it is like owning 2 vibes in 1.
Missy: I think one of the most amazing things about OhMiBod and why I describe it as revolutionary, is because of the potential this product has to really bring an entire new level of social acceptance to female masturbation and the use of vibrators as being a part of healthy sex and healthy living... something that no other vibrator or sex toy product in my opinion has been able to accomplish. Was this part of your intention when creating OhMiBod?
Suki's Answer: Absolutely! My main objective with OhMiBod is to bring vibrators mainstream. By connecting OhMiBod to the iconic iPod, I definitely feel that OhMiBod has the potential to receive a level of acceptance that other vibrators have not previously enjoyed. OhMiBod's sleek and sophisticated design make it easy to use and a very approachable product. We carried the idea of approachability through the entire development and design of all OhMiBod products - their names, packaging and website. We want our customers to feel as comfortable buying any OhMiBod product as they would purchasing any iPod accessory.
Missy: What was the original inspiration behind the OhMiBod? How did this exciting new vibrator come to be?
Suki's Answer: Several years ago for Christmas my husband gave me my two favorite "stocking stuffers" of all time...my iPod mini and a vibrator. You see...at that time, my husband traveled a lot for work. He bought me these presents to keep me "satisfied" during his lengthy trips away. I started to think about what a big part music plays in our sex lives and what a huge role it plays in setting a mood. Bringing sex and music together in a toy seemed like it would be a killer combination and create a truly unique sexual experience. I also like the role music plays in transporting you to a different place mentally so that you are more relaxed and open to pleasuring yourself. It also didn't hurt that I was a former Apple Computer employee and love gadgets. This all resulted in the creation of OhMiBod.
Missy: Don't get me wrong here with my next question, I absolutely love my iPod... but can the OhMiBod be used with any MP3 player, or is it exclusive to use with iPod?
Suki's Answer: OhMiBod music vibes work with all music players. In fact, they work with any audio input with a 3.5 mm jack (headphone jack size...for you non-techies). We have even had customers who's boyfriends have hooked our product up to their guitars! Now that is how to serenade someone!
Missy: For the first-time buyer who's not sure which OhMiBod they should start with, which OhMiBod vibrator do you recommend?
Suki's Answer: For a first-time buyer, I think our latest release, the Naughtibod is great. Like I mentioned before it is smaller in size than its sibling OhMiBod . It also comes in four delicious colors, blueberry, bubblegum, green apple & licorice matching Apple's iPod nano line.
Missy: What's the hottest, best-selling OhMiBod product and accessory right now?
Suki's Answer: Our music vibes are definitely our bestsellers. As far as the accessories go, Sliquid lubricants which are all paraben and glycerin free and Afterglow Toy Tissues are quite popular.
Missy: If there's one OhMiBod vibrator "absolute must-have or try" accessory, which would it be?
Suki's Answer: I'd say the new Naughtibod. I love its shape, size and all the fun colors.
Missy: Does the OhMiBod require batteries, or is it rechargeable?
Suki's Answer: All OhMiBod products require batteries but we are working on some products which will be rechargeable.
Missy: I see the OhMiBod vibrators are available in a variety of perfectly eye-pleasing colours, and that new colours are going to be coming soon as well. I'm curious though, what is the most popular colour women want (buy)?
Suki's Answer: Pink, of course.
Missy: One thing that came to mind for me is that in addition to music, we women have a passion for fashion. In addition to the current silky satins, will there be new colours or styles available with jewel accessories, sparkles, or shines?
Suki's Answer: We don't normally comment on products in development, but just let me say....we have some really super fun things coming out in early 2009.
Missy: Okay Suki, I've left the most personal question for last... Do you have an all-time favorite song or songs you recommend our readers should try on their new OhMiBod?
Suki's Answer: I love many different genres of music. I am a big fan of hip hop and R&B. Most music in this genre happens to work extremely well with an OhMiBod. Some of my favorites songs are I can't believe it by T-Pain, Forever by Chris Brown, 4 Minutes by Madonna and Closer by Neyo. That's not to say, of course, that heavy metal, alternative or even classical isn't excellent, as well. Because I truly love all different genres of music, I am always looking for new ways to work with music artists. We are currently playing a role in providing product giveaways to coincide with Buckcherry's new album release, Black Butterfly. I really like Rose & Cream off of this new album.
I also have some personal OhMiBod playlists that I have posted to Apple's iTunes music store. One is titled OhMiBod - Sunday Morning Mix & OhMiBod - Full - O- Soul. Sunday Morning Mix is made up of mostly male music artitsts whose voices make me melt. Full-O-Soul is just that...filled with the likes of Marvin Gaye, Barry White. It is a very "old school" list and I love it. What's fun about OhMiBod is that besides creating a really fun product, we have given our customers a way to connect through anonymous playlist sharing on iTunes. If you go to the iMix section of the store and search on OhMiBod, you will find over 50 playlists posted from other OhMiBod users. We also created the OhMiBlog, where our customers can see what's happening in our world and ask us questions.
Missy: Thanks very much for answering all our questions Suki. I know our readers will be extremely excited to try out the new OhMiBod vibrators.
Suki's Closing Comments: Thanks for letting me share my little creation with you. Tune in & Turn on!
